The undergraduate degree program in Psychology is designed to provide a basic education in psychology that will serve as a foundation for graduate work in a professional field, such as clinical psychology, counseling, marriage and family counseling, research, industrial psychology, or college teaching.

Courses in the program also provide knowledge from the field of psychology which can be applied to related careers such as human services, business, communications and research through a broadly-based psychology curriculum.

The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology requires a minimum of 37 semester hours in psychology, including General Psychology. At least 25 of these hours must be at the upper-division level. The College of Arts and Humanities also requires students in Psychology to take at least 6 hours of a second language.
